The students will draw at least 3 Australian Animals and then add pattern inside their animals. Students will then color in the pattern with oil pastel. The last step is painting the dots all around the animals. To do this, we will be using the eraser side of the pencil, dip the pencils in the paint and dot away!
This is one of my favorite lessons that the 3rd graders get to do! They are learning about Australia and the people from Australia, the Aborigines. Aborigines are people who are native to Australia which means they were the first to live in Australia.

Hi Mrs.dahlgren. I heard that some people somewhere in Minnesota heard about abboriginies art and enstead of using a pencil with paint on the end they tryed to use big globs of paint so when it dryed you could feel the bumpy globe of paint!
