5th Graders are creating their own Egyptian Portraits. We learn about Egypt, Sarcophagi, and about the process of making a mummy. There is something about Ancient Egypt that students just love! We'll talk about one of the most famous sarcophagi found - King Tut and his tomb. Students will also be learning about Hieroglyphics and adding them into their portrait. | I found this lesson on Deep Space Sparkle, check it out here! |
Students must decide to do either a profile (side) portrait or a forward facing portrait.
I created a face tracer to eliminate the teeny, tiny faces that are usually drawn. Students draw the rest themselves: eyes, nose, mouth, headdress, patterns and hieroglyphics.
