I saw this tree on Mr. Picasso's Art Room Blog and I thought this would be just the perfect display to have during the summer. This display was really easy and turned out great! All I did was use construction paper to create the tree and scrapbook paper/card-stock to create the funky circle leaves.
The school always looks so sad and lonely during the summer. There aren't any students and all of the artwork gets taken down. I thought that I should make something that gets left up all summer for all to see. I saw this tree on Mr. Picasso's Art Room Blog and I thought this would be just the perfect display to have during the summer. This display was really easy and turned out great! All I did was use construction paper to create the tree and scrapbook paper/card-stock to create the funky circle leaves. The art room window is one of the first windows walking to the main entrance so I thought decorating the window would also brighten up the school. I found this on the blog, Kids Artists, and made my own giant version.

I've been using today to find great art lessons and I was looking on Artolazzi Blog and found this awesome video about working as a group, painting at the same time to make circles and lines. No thinking, just painting! The group of people in the video below are apart of a community class lead by artist/activist Nobuko Yamamoto and Hiep Nguyen. This was a group of 30 people with 30 different faiths coming together to make ONE single art piece. I thought I would add a blog onto my website so I can show other fun art projects, pictures of works in progress and share my thoughts about how awesome art is! We are one long weekend away from starting the first week of school. A week ago I didn't feel ready but now that I've started making seating charts and thinking of upcoming lessons the teaching bug is getting there! While following the blog, Adventures of an Art Teacher, I found this great example of texture. There are soooo many amazing art blogs out there! I'll try to link as many as I can. Clothesline Awesomeness! One project that I really, really want to do with my 5th graders is this clotheslines idea I saw, again, on Adventures of an Art Teacher. She had her students paint a monochromatic sky and then use fabric to cut out their own clothes for their clothes line. I think this is beautiful and creative, I am a little obsessed with this project. |
