4th graders have been drawing out Adobe Buildings for the last couple of days.
They use Chalk Pastels to create the Adobe shapes. Each student needs to draw at least 4 buildings and they need to overlap to show space.
They color the buildings with one solid color and a different color for the windows and doors. They use a paper towel to blend the chalk pastel.

The last thing the students do is outline all buildings, doors and windows with black chalk pastel.

This is the handout I use to show different architecture that adobe buildings use.
Students can try to duplicate what they see in the handout or they can come up with their own version of an adobe building.

This is the last art lesson for my 3rd graders! Time is Flying By!
We talked about the artist, Georgia O'Keeffe and looked at her painting of flowers.

The students started with pencil to draw out their flower. Then, they outlined with sharpie and colored the middle black.
The students then made the decision to use either warm or cool colors.
Warm - Red, Orange and Yellow
Cool - Blue, Green and Purple

These flowers will be cut out and hung up in the school over summer break

WOW! I am behind! The end of the year keeps getting crazier and crazier with Field Trips, Clay Art Lessons and Concerts, there is not as much time to update my blog.

The 5th graders finished in March their 2 Point Perspective Castles. Because of time, they were only required use a pencil.
The students needed to create space by using 2 point perspective correctly.
They also need to show value and texture on their castle.
