The 3rd graders just finished creating landscapes. Students would choose either warm or cool colors to draw their trees. Warm colors: Red, Pink, Yellow and Orange Cool colors: Blue, Green and Purple 3rd graders would draw at least 5 trees. We talked about background, middle ground and foreground. Smaller trees closer to the horizon line and bigger trees in the foreground Once finished drawing the trees, we painted the sky and ground. Students would use the opposite colors that they used for their trees. If they use warm colors for trees, they would use cool colors for the background. If they use cool colors for trees, they would use warm colors for the background. |
