The 3rd graders in their classroom have been learning about Symmetry so we just finished a lesson about symmetry and now we are starting a lesson about asymmetry. We first learned about asymmetry with Pablo Picasso. We compared the difference between symmetrical faces and Picasso's Portraits. They learned that Picasso liked to show different sides of the face all at once so each student needed to have a front facing eye and a profile (side) view of the face. Their clay is white so color their clay with markers and then mold the clay until it changes color. |
